New Store Items, New Video, New Paintings, and Creatives Retreat

So much can happen in one week! Life has been weird that way, lately. Would you share this blog post with someone who might enjoy some beauty in their life, or might be looking for a few days of encouragement for their art-block?

New Store Items

I’ve finally been able to upload all the new pottery to the store! Go take a look (use the “catalog” button above).

New Video

Speaking of pottery, at the request of a couple of you, I created a video on the process of glaze firing with more information than last time, and BONUS, you get in on opening the kiln after the firing!  I’d love to hear which was your favorite piece.

New Paintings

It’s Bluebonnet season! The bluebonnets this year are slightly underwhelming due to the drought, but never fear!

Your local Texas artists are here! We can create a world where it’s an amazing Bluebonnet year every year!

“Blue Wander” 16×20 soft pastel on paper. View in catalog.

“Long Blue Serenity” 16X20 soft pastel on paper. View in catalog.

Creatives Retreat

Just a reminder that the Creatives Retreat at Camp of the Hills is April 29-May 1…which means it’s almost here! We would love for you to join us; it’s an incredible time of connecting with our art and other artists who are seeking to find their “why”. You can relax, you can make art, you can visit, and you can dive deep into artistic journeys–yours and others. Click here to learn more and register. Feel free to share the link with any of your artist friends who might find it a valuable retreat.

A Moment of Transparency

Lastly, I just want to quickly share something.

I have never had anyone tell me that my art isn’t worth what I charge. But I have had people turn away when they find out how much a painting is.
And I get it. I really do. But here is one reason why I can’t sell you my art for $50…
I went shopping for frames and glass today, and these are the prices. Yes. That’s $125 and some change for ONE sheet of the type of glass that must be used on soft pastel for the best viewing.
