Summertime! I love farmer’s markets and tomatoes. You can often find me walking happily through local markets with my camera snap, snap, snapping to capture the variety of colors and shapes available under all the little canopies.

Serendipity.

Really! The most delightful things often just happen. Sometimes they happen while the artist is trying to correct a mistake. The original background to this piece turned very ugly very quickly. In my effort to correct it, I took it outdoors and used some canned air to remove the ugly bits. The result was so awesome that I didn’t even have to use more pastel on the areas I had cleared…the small amount of leftover pastel with the underpainting showing through was perfect!
